The Moissanite ERA & The NEO Moissanite! Diamonds are a thing of the past!

Posted by Port City Jewelers on Jan 12th 2017

In 2015 the Moissanite Patent held by Charles & Colvard expired!  Since that time Moissanite brands have popped up here and there.  Some were successful and some were not.  The ones that were not in my opinion did not have a clear objective and focus on bringing a new line of Moissanite to the market that was historically controlled by Charles & Colvard for 10 years!  The brands that failed were just trying to be copy cats of the same product and going up against a marketing GIANT!  However in the time since the Patent expired there have been a couple of brands that went the road less traveled and will become even more successful that Charles & Colvard in my opinion!  Here is one of those!

NEO Moissanite:

What is it?

The Moissanite NEO; like the Forever One by C&C, is a 4H (SiC) crystalline structure, it is the whitest raw silicon carbide poly-type allowing for True D, E, F, G & H colorless moissanite production. The Moissanite NEO has been sectioned into two categories, True G-H color and True E-F color.

Editor Quote: "One of the most fascinating aspects of the NEO 4H (SiC) poly-type is that it can be graded using the diamond grading scale. Never before has this been possible with moissanite. Prior patent expiration 6H (SiC) poly-type like the Forever Classic and Forever Brilliant are saturated green and yellow color hues."

Call to Action - Heat Test- "The 4H Moissanite NEO will not change color under heat. The 6H Moissanite by Charles and Colvard will turn a bright yellow upon heating."

The NEO revealed - Neo Moissanite starts out as a seed crystal suspended inside a vacuum sealed chamber. Intense Heat and High Pressure is applied. Within 3-12 weeks the raw crystal is fully grown; cylindrical in shape, 3 - 4 inches in diameter and 5 - 6 inches from top to bottom. Once removed from the reactor the raw crystal is turned on its side and laser cut into wafers then laser cut into preforms. (Preforms: the shape of the stone that you want as a final product) Once all preforms are completed, they are sent to the cutting house where they are faceted then polished. The last step prior to going through our hyper extensive in house quality control, is a special and vital annealing process. This process repairs any broken bonds from the raw crystal growth and creates the whitest possible finished product.

Why Choose the NEO Moissanite?

The NEO Moissanite is less expensive than the Forever One Moissanite for beginners!  You also get an outstanding product that best mimic's the look and feel of a high grade diamond!  The NEO Moissanite also faces up more white than the competition as mentioned above.  Each NEO is graded as a true GH or EF Color Moissanite!  The NEO Moissanite warranty is much better than Charles & Colvard, because the NEO Moissanite covers even more!  See the entire warranty by  clicking here
